| Honour our Heroes’ Program |
 |
Join us as we celebrate and make a difference in the lives of those families that are making a difference for ours.
Heroes is a program designed to honour and reward the military heroes in our local communities by providing FULL SPONSORSHIP for their children to attend camp. |
Heroes’ Camp gives back to families of serving military personnel
"Bet you’re wondering who gets to go to Heroes’ Camp. Well, kids who are between 11 and 15 and whose parents are in the military can go. It doesn’t matter if it is your mom or dad, and it doesn’t matter if they are in the Army, Navy or Air Force. Even though our parents may do different things, us kids have a lot in common. Our parents are away a lot, and they may not always be in safe places."
What started as a one-week camp for the children of military families two years ago has now grown into the Heroes’ Foundation, an affiliate of the Canadian National Christian Foundation (CNCF) trying to raise $1.2 million so that 32 kids can go to camp every summer in perpetuity. So far, enough has been raised to ensure the camp runs for the next seven years.

| Schools & Groups |
Over the past few years, schools and other groups have shown an ever increasing interest in taking advantage of the great programs and/or facilities we offer here at Wesley Acres.
Our Elevate and Outdoor Adventure programs have become very popular with schools and groups, not only locally but from other areas in Southern Ontario. As well, because of the perfect location on West Lake and our great facilities and accommodations, groups large and small book at Wesley Acres to run their own camps, conferences or events. Some of our most popular activities include High Ropes, Low Rope and the Rock Climbing Wall. Over the past couple of years we have operated a Sugar Bush where school groups and others can participate in a “hands on” experience learning the art of making Maple Syrup. |
|
| Sugar Bush |
Each Spring season Wesley Acres opens up their Sugar bush and invite groups in for a" Hands On" learning experience in the art of making Maple Syrup. Schools are invited in to take part in outdoor nature training, survival instruction and step by step procedures in making maple syrup.
Tree identification, tapping the tree, collecting the sap and watching it being boiled down into maple syrup. The finished product will be tasted on our home made mini pancakes.
And...don't forget the "Sap tea" for the teachers and parents!
Rain or shine...we are there! |

Dear Friends,
I can’t believe another year is behind us. It’s already 2012! Pray God will bless His ministry here at Wesley Acres again this year in new and wonderful ways.
Mark your calendars for February 7th: “Family Camp Booking day” starts at 9am. We look forward to Dr. Kevin Mannoia’s leadership during Family Camp 1 and Dr. Bill Ury in Family Camp 2, with all our old friends and new friends here to enjoy and learn from these men of God.
Our Kids Camps have a new on-line registration that has been designed to be more user friendly for you and for us. Anyone can also still register the old fashion way if they prefer.
2011 donation receipts have been mailed and you should receive those shortly. If you don’t receive yours this week, give us a call, as we may have an incorrect address.
Lot leases are being prepared and we expect to have those sent out by the end of February. Your WAC Committee and Finance Committee have been working diligently to keep the rates down.
Although this hasn’t been a heavy, snowy winter (yet), we still look forward to having everyone return to the island before long. Remember to keep Wesley Acres Camp and its mission in your daily prayers to give Staff, Board of Directors and Committees - His guidance, His strength, and His wisdom for all their decisions.
Blessings to each of you!
