THE
WEEKEND...
The Fish ‘N Chips weekend is a two day event of
fishing, golfing and other events which encourage rich
Christian Fellowship. Pastors and local Church leaders,
please consider this as an opportunity for your church
to extend its ministry to men. If you have men who do
not know the Lord, or other men who are new to the church,
why not bring them (yes “BRING” them) so
that they can benefit not only from the sporting activities
but from the fellowship & times of spiritual meditation
Mission
Of WA Men’s Ministry
The Wesley Acres Men’s Ministry Committee was
formed to generate summertime functions for the purposes
of bringing men together for fellowship and spiritual
growth; to continue off season activities which can
renew friendships and familiarize new men with the Wesley
Acres Community; to support congregational men’s
groups within their own churches through attendance
at individual church endeavours and mass rallies.

Keynote
Speakers:
Gerry Organ
Gerry was born in Cheltenham, England and emigrated with his family in 1957 to Toronto where he completed his High School education and entered the workforce. After working for four years he returned to school and graduated from the University of Guelph in 1971. While earning his degree, Gerry met and married his wife Lore to whom he has now been married for thirty-eight years. Lore is a Special Education specialist and has served children and their families in various schools for over 20 years. Lore and Gerry have two married children and five grandchildren.
From 1971 to 1983 Gerry played professional football for the once mighty Ottawa Rough Riders of the C.F.L. In 1973 and 1976 he played on Grey Cup championship teams, was voted the Outstanding Canadian Player in 1973 and at the time of his retirement was second in all-time C.F.L. scoring. He is a member of the City of Ottawa, University of Guelph, and O.U.A.A. Halls of Fame. His other Grey Cup appearance was in 1981 where the ‘Riders came within a last second field goal of beating the favorite Edmonton Eskimos.
Gerry trusted Christ as his Saviour in 1973 through the ministry of Athletes in Action. He co-founded and managed the Ottawa Athletic Club from 1974 to 1980 and completed a Masters Degree at the University of Ottawa in 1984. In 1985 he and his family moved to Guelph where, for five years, he served as a Family Therapist. From 1991 to 1993 he was engaged as the Eastern Director for Focus on the Family. In 1993 Gerry was appointed to the full time pastoral staff of The Peoples Church in Toronto, leaving that position in 1997 to accept a different calling, that of Executive Director of CBMC.
He served CBMC for ten years and was privileged to see God at work in the lives of many business leaders. He recently joined the leadership team of One Way Ministries of Ottawa.
Gerry has discovered that every life is intended for the purpose of glorifying the Lord by the way we live, the way we worship and the way we love one another. His mission is to see greater unity in the body of Christ and the transformation of many of our cities. He is convinced that prayer is the essential work of every believer.
